The IEEE Robotics & Automation Society (IEEE-RAS) is excited to announce an open call for enthusiastic and dedicated students to join the Technical Committee on Soft Robotics as Student Representatives. As a Student Representative, you will work closely with the TC Co-Chairs to assist in the organisation and coordination of technical activities. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the advancement of the field and to connect with leading professionals in the field of Soft Robotics. Selected Student Representatives will receive support to attend RAS flagship conferences to help with event and workshops organization, as well as one free registration to a RAS-sponsored conference.
This is a one year term (from 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2027). The term is renewable for up to three consecutive years.
Responsibilities:
Assisting in the planning and execution of committee events, such as meetings, workshops, and seminars at flagship conferences (e.g., ICRA and IROS).
Facilitating communication between committee members and students, potentially including the management of TC social media accounts or newsletters.
Representing the student perspective within committee discussions and initiatives.
Promoting the committee’s work and encouraging new student memberships.
Requirements:
Current enrollment in a related Ph.D. or M.S.-Ph.D. program.
Membership in the IEEE and the Robotics & Automation Society.
Demonstrated interest in the field of Soft Robotics.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Please note that each student may only apply to one Technical Committee.
